Fantastic thoughts on serving and the absolute need to be present and not stuck on auto-pilot in performance mode! After losing my job as a business analyst for nearly 20 years, serving saved me, too. I jumped into helping during Vacation Bible School both day and evening shifts and also joined the PTO board at my childrens school. By serving others, I happily discovered my calling, not to serve adults in corporate America but children and adults in church and elementary school settings.
